Myrl Joyce Dobbs
Myrl Joyce Dobbs, age 87, the daughter of the late John George and Maitrude (Lawrence) Bruns went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at her home in Hilltop Lakes.
Myrl was born in San Antonio on April 12, 1929. At an early age, her family moved to Houston, where she grew up, graduating from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1948. She met and married the love of her life Donald Lee Dobbs on his birthday January 15, 1949. They celebrated 67 years of marriage. D. L. and Myrl spent many years traveling extensively especially to Colorado where she enjoyed the beauty of the mountains, rivers and trees.
Most of her life was spent raising her kids and helping build a home for her husband. Together she and D. L. raised three children, Michael and his wife Olga Dobbs of Ft. Worth, Donna Lynn Werlein of Houston and Debra Kay Jozwiak also of Houston. They also were the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren Holly Michelle Werlein, Brittany Kay Jozwiak, Kelsey Jo Jozwiak, Jessica Gonzales, Jennifer Carrera, Ernie Ortiz and Elizabeth Ortiz.
A celebration of the life of Myrl will begin with a visitation Tuesday, July 12 at 7:00 pm at Hilltop Lakes Chapel with Funeral Services at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 13 at Hilltop Lakes Chapel with Dr. Tony Taylor, pastor officiating.
Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery with a reception to follow at Hilltop Lakes Chapel Fellowship Hall.

Don, we are so sorry we missed the funeral services. I finally went on line to find out the time, but it was too late for us to attend. We know you shared many happy years with Merle, and those memories will be everlasting. I loved singing in the choir with both of you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Carroll and Marzie Smith.
