Cozart Funeral & Cremation Centers proudly own and operate our own crematory, staffed by licensed and certified professionals. Unlike many other funeral homes that use third-party crematories, where remains from multiple locations are transferred in and out, our in-house facility allows us to manage and supervise every cremation directly. This ensures your loved one receives the highest standard of care and attention that only Cozart Funeral & Cremation Centers can provide.
To ensure security and eliminate any possibility of error, Cozart Funeral & Cremation Centers places a personal identification band on your loved one the moment they are entrusted to our care.
At Cozart Funeral & Cremation Centers, each individual in our care is entered into our tracking system and assigned a unique identification number, which is stamped onto a stainless steel identification disc. This number enables precise tracking through every phase of the cremation process, including the date and time of arrival at our facility and the name of the transfer technician. Personal belongings are carefully cataloged and securely stored for safe return to the family.
If requested, we are honored to bathe and dress your loved one, allowing you the option to spend time with them before the cremation begins. You and your family are welcome to stay for as long or as briefly as you feel comfortable, providing a moment of peace and reflection.
At Cozart Funeral & Cremation Centers, every team member involved in cremation is a Certified Cremation Specialist. To maintain the highest standards, two staff members carefully review all cremation paperwork to ensure all authorizations are complete and properly documented. We record your loved one’s name, identification number, the date and time of the cremation, the name of the crematory operator, and additional relevant details. Our crematory log is dated and signed by our cremation technician, who records the start time before and after the cremation. During the cremation process, the cremation documents, personal identification band, and stainless steel identification disc are placed on the outside of the chamber to ensure accuracy and accountability at every step.
After the cremation is complete, the cremated remains, along with the stainless steel identification disc, are carefully placed in an urn. Our team will then contact your family to arrange a convenient time for you to receive your loved one.
