Virginia E. Reed

Virginia Reed, 92, of Normangee, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2016. Visitation was held at Cozart Funeral Home on Saturday, April 23, from 6 to 8 pm. Graveside services were held Sunday, April 24, at the Gum Springs Cemetery in Flynn, Texas at 3 pm. Rev. Jim Jackson presided over the services. Burial was at Gum Springs Cemetery. Funeral services were entrusted to Cozart Funeral Home in Normangee.

Virginia Reed was born on July 4, 1923 to her parents James and Lillian (Rouse) Evans. She was married to Doyle B. Reed on June 20, 1942. Virginia was a school teacher for Flynn school and then Normangee schools. She and her husband Doyle where owners and operators of Reed Insurance downtown Normangee. Virginia was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Normangee.

She is survived by her son; Doyle B. Reed, Jr.; a grandson Charles Doyle Reed, many cousins and extended family.
