Velma Marie Brian

Velma Marie Brian, age 82, of North Zulch went to be with her Lord on Friday, August 26, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Velma was born January 21, 1934 in Marlin, Texas to Romie Lee and Ruby Lee (Newby) Dunkin.

She met and married the love of her life, Delbert Brian, in La Porte, Texas on September 23, 1962. They lived for over 40 years in the Normangee community. She worked most of her life serving the citizens of this community as a waitress.

Left behind from her passing is her husband of 53 years Delbert, six daughters Glinda Myers of Houston, Brinda Hamilton of Spring, Sherry Hammonds of Dallas, Karen “Boo Boo” Regini of North Zulch, Jackie Bush and Karen Barnes both of Shreveport, La. She also leaves behind a son Morgan Brian of Shreveport, La. And the loves of her life her fourteen grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Cozart Funeral Home of Normangee with Brother Dawkins officiating. Interment will be in Wheelock Cemetery.

Cozart Funeral Home of Normangee was entrusted with all arrangements.
