Shirley Jean Mathews

Shirley Jean Mathews, 76 formerly of Flynn, TX went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 21, at the Hospice Brazos Valley in Bryan. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 24, at 2 pm at Lighthouse Full Gospel Church in the Macy Community. Preacher Cloyce Johnson is to preside over services. Burial will follow service in the Macy Memorial Cemetery. Funeral services have been entrusted to Cozart Funeral Home.

Shirley Jean Dailey was born in Huntsville, TX September 30, 1938 to her parents Jack David and Bernice (Williams) Dailey. She was married to the love of her life Bobby Mathews and had four loving children. Shirley was a loving mother to her children and grandchildren. She was a caring person who would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need.

Shirley was preceded in death by both of her parents Jack and Bernice Dailey, and a brother Maurice Williams.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Mathews; two sons, Terry Mathews, and Bobby Mathews and wife Elaine; two daughters, Jeanne Johnson, and Romona Potts and husband Randy; nine grandchildren; Nicole, Whittney, Alexander, Gabriel, Jessica, Billy, Bobby, Sara, and Nicholas; and 6 great grandchildren.
