Odis Strickland

Odis Strickland, Jr., 71, of Flynn, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Odis was born on February 20, 1945 in Waco, TX to his parents Odis and Loraine (Dickens) Strickland, Sr. He was married to the love of his love Barbara Soape on November 5, 1979 in Angleton, TX. Odis was a car salesman for many years and retired to live in the country. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish. Odis was a very loving father and grandfather. He was proud of all his children and grandchildren, and of all they have accomplished.

Odis was preceded in death by both his parents; Odis and Loraine Strickland; and a brother, Wayne Strickland.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara Strickland; daughters, Viki Braswell and husband Kenneth, DeAnn Strickland, and Melinda Markle; sons Greg Markle and wife Kitty, John Strickland and wife Abbie, Will Strickland, Jeremiah Strickland and wife Christine, and Robert Strickland; brother Gary Strickland and wife Beverly; sisters, Darlene Cunningham and husband Velton, and Margaret Beheler; Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
