Mary Evelyn Wolfington

June 16, 1929 — October 16, 2013

Mary Evelyn Williams Wolfington, 84, of Normangee, Texas finished her walk on this earthly realm on October 16, 2013 in Bryan, Texas.

Mary was born on June 16, 1929 in Madison County, Texas, the youngest child of Oscar and Evelyn Bledsoe Williams. She graduated with the class of 1945 from Normangee High School.

She married John Edward Wolfington on October 9, 1945 in Houston, Texas who also graduated with the Class of 1945. They returned to this area after working for many years to retire here and became very active in the community, and members of Harmony Baptist Church.

She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Wolfington White and husband Burnas of Paris, Texas and Regina Wolfington of Denton, Texas. She had two grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Bernal and husband Jesse and Matthew Aaron Lee Wolfington and wife Chelsea; one great-granddaughter, Ally Noel Reynolds, and a Sister, Virginia Ruth Jackson.

She was blessed with 68 wonderful years of married life. They enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling in their RV with the families as well as visiting with friends and families alike. We were truly a blessed family full of joy and laughter and grateful for every moment we had together.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, October 19, at 10:00 am in the Harmony Baptist Church. Bro. Don Swindol presided over services. Burial followed at the Ten Mile Cemetery. Services were entrusted to Davis Cozart Funeral Home. Donations may be made in her memory to the Baptist Children’s Home.
