Leona Forrest was born May 31, 1918 to Ransom and Eva Forrest in Grayson, KY. Her mother died tragically after her birth from Influenza. She was raised by her Aunt, Uncle and Grandparents on their farm in Kentucky. Leona shared many great memories with her family of her childhood there. Leona was married to James Thomas McMillin on November 13, 1938. She has always had a passion for God and bible studies. After moving to Hilltop Lakes she joined Ladies of the Lakes Literary Guild of Hilltop Lakes, Texas. Never having a problem filling the time she was an avid artist, reader, and homemaker. A member of the Flynn Assembly of God and attending also at Hilltop Lakes Chapel, she loved God and wanted to share this with everyone she met.
Leona was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband of 55 years James Thomas McMillin, her second husband Albert Wigley who passed in 2001, and her third husband Sam Lakue who passed in 2006. She loved them all very much.
Survivors include her son, Forrest McMillin and wife Mary Ann of Hilltop Lakes; three grandchildren, Douglas McMillin and wife Sandra, Dwayne McMillin, and Deana Denham; and one great grandchild, Olivia Denham.
