LaRue Williams Beamon, 81 passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Visitation is set from 1-2 PM Saturday, March 4 at Cozart Funeral Home in Normangee Texas; burial will follow at Macy Memorial Cemetery.
LaRue was born November 20, 1941 in the Macy Community; She was the daughter of Noonan Roy “Shorty” and Ophelia Williams. She graduated from Normangee High School in May 1960. While attending cosmetology school and working at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Houston, TX she met her loving husband of 61 years, Jerry Wayne Beamon and had two children.
LaRue also worked in the accounting department of Ramada Inn followed by Bryan Coca-Cola where she retired. She enjoyed music, had a beautiful voice and would spend hours singing and recording songs, she loved both old gospel and country music. She was a wonderful cook and all who knows her knew there was always a pot of coffee brewing. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors and loved roses and crepe myrtle trees of which she adorned her property. LaRue‘s reverence and love for all that God created was mirrored in her devotion to her church. She and her husband were instrumental in founding Macy Memorial Chapel and Cemetery where she spent numerous years attending church and caring for her community. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who enjoyed spending time with her family.
LaRue is preceded in death by her parents, son Jerry Wayne Beamon II, and brothers Leroy Williams and Donny Dayle Williams. Survivors include her husband Jerry Wayne Beamon, son Robert “Buddy” Beamon and wife Toni, and two grandchildren Carissa Beamon, Collin Beamon and girlfriend LeAnn Jennings. Sisters Martha June Williams, Mayge Henry, Euwyn Pegues and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank doctors, nurses and support staff at Encompass Rehabilitation Center, St. Joseph Hospital and Amedisys Hospice along with numerous family and friends for their care and support. In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Macy Memorial Chapel.
