Janette Hurt

Janette Hurt, age 90, of Normangee, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 27, 2019. Funeral services will be Friday, November 1, 2019 at 11:30 am at First Baptist Church in Normangee with her son Bro. Gary Dawkins, Dale Evans and Rev. Bob Shirley, pastor officiating. Interment will follow at Earthman’s Cemetery in Houston.

Janette was born in Warrior, Alabama to Johnny and Essie (Dempsey) Thomas.

She is survived by three sons, Gary Dawkins, Dennis Dawkins and Joey Hurt as well as a daughter Mitzi Cirella. She also leaves behind her 19 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Deborah Bass and her late husband James C. “Jim” Hurt.
