Jacquolyn Thornton, 83, former Hilltop Lakes resident, passed away Monday, May 27, at Madison St. Joseph Health Center. Graveside services were held Thursday, May 30, at the Pierce Family Cemetery at 11 am. Bro. Kip Riley was there to preside over service. Funeral services entrusted to Cozart Funeral Home in Normangee.
LoRayne Jacquolyn Stewart was born September 22, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri to her parents Thomas Jack and Vinita (Sheehan) Stewart. Jackie was preceded in death by her husband Keith Thornton and her son Ronald Gene Pierce. Jacquolyn was a high school graduate and worked for Smiths Food. She was the office manager and worked there until she retired at age 70. She was a home body loving to watch the Lawrence Welk Show and to do word searches. Jacquolyn would sit and listen to music for hours especially Tennessee Ernie Ford and Elvis. She loved her family she would look through photo albums and tell you about her children and grandchildren.
Jacquolyn is survived by her sister Shirley Pierce; two sons, Robert Wayne Pierce Sr. and wife Diana, and Timothy Lee Pierce Sr. and wife Sherry; nine grandchildren, Robert Wayne Pierce Jr. and wife Charlotte, Kristan Baker, Anjanette Ross, Marcus Hulse and wife Shelbie, Ronald Gene Pierce Jr. and wife Samantha, Laurie Pierce, Rusty Russell Garret Pierce and wife Tiffany, Timothy Lee Pierce Jr. and wife Jessica, and Sarrah Beth Shafer and husband Eric; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
