Hugh David Rigsby was born July, 21, 1933 to his parents John Alfred Rigsby and Leona Estelle (Jones) Rigsby in Geronimo, OK. He grew up in League City, TX and attended Clear Creek ISD. During his 53 year marriage to Anna Mae, Hugh and Anna spent their working years in League City before retiring to their farm in North Zulch. They worked as hard as ever with the land and animals for many more years before finally relaxing at Hilltop Lakes nearly 30 years ago. Hugh enjoyed the community Hilltop brought. He received his 60 year pin as a Heavy Equipment Operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 450. He also was recognized as a Thirty Second Degree Mason for over 50 years. He was a skilled golfer, a wonderful dancer, and an even better story teller and jokester – picking on you meant he loved you. As great as he was at all those things, he was an even better husband, daddy, uncle, brother, PeePaw, Poppies, Pop-Pop, and his favorite title of all: GREAT Pop-Pop! He loved his family big and he could brag on any of us for hours on end. If you were one of his regular phone call buddies, you know that better than anyone. To all who knew Hugh, or knew stories of him, we can all attest he was the inspiration for the quote, “Live Life to the Fullest!”

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae Rigsby, both his parents, John and Leona Rigsby; his sister Charlcie Morrison, and his son Randall Rigsby. He is survived by his four daughters, Melissa Green and husband Phil of Santa Fe, Alexia Rigsby of Madisonville, Teresa Rigsby of Madisonville, and Davida Rigsby of Galveston; and two very special nephews along with their families, John Milutin and wife Robin, Hank Butler and wife Linda; eight grandchildren, Hunter Green and wife Nataly, Casey Baugh Green and husband Bradley, Layla Wray and husband Bill, April Covington and husband Jeff, Michael Davidson II and wife Ellie, Anna Gonzalez and husband Danny, Jessica Ramirez, and David Ramirez and wife Ashley; 27 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchilden, and many family friends.

To his infinite number of grandkids and great-grandkids: We knew it was not goodbye unless Poppies gave us a dollar bill. That is how we know this is not goodbye, but I will see you later.
