Elizabeth Ann Childers

Elizabeth Ann Brown was born on June 2nd, 1949 in Odessa, Texas to parents Oscar and Naomi Brown. She passed peacefully in her sleep on September 10th, 2023 at her home in Normangee, Texas.

Visitation services will be held at First Baptist Church in Normangee on Saturday, September 16th, 2023 from 11am-12pm. Funeral services will be held later in the day at First Baptist Church Normangee starting at 1:30pm with interment to follow at Hopewell Cemetery.

Elizabeth attended high school at San Jacinto High School in Houston, Texas where she met the love of her life, David Childers in 1967. The two were married on Valentines Day, February 14th, 1969 in Houston, Texas.

Elizabeth was blessed with 3 boys, Mickey Lynn, Jeremy Lee, and Oscar Heath. Their family moved to Normangee, Texas in 1981. From 1985-1986, Ann was proud to have contributed to the family building their own home.

Elizabeth loved animals of all kinds and had her Animal Science degree from a home study course. Over the years her many pets and “patients” have included deer, racoons, squirrels, cats, dogs, birds, and chickens. She also was a cake decorator for over 10 years and enjoyed making elaborate designs for her customers, family, and friends.

She cherished and loved the Lord and it was her great faith that gave her the strength to endure her medical obstacles for as long as she did. Elizabeth loved her family with all of her heart.

She was preceded in death by Parents Oscar and Naomi Brown, Sister Janice Lorenze, and son Mickey Childers.

She is survived by her loving husband David Childers; Sons Jeremy Childers, and Heath Childers and wife Laurel, Daughter in Law, Slinda Childers. Sisters Linda Wood, and Toni Branan. Grandchildren Sammantha Diaz, Gus Childers, Evie Sams, Cheyenne Childers, and Emaly Childers. 2 great-grandchildren, Josue, and Rivenly Diaz.

Donations can be made to Hospice Brazos Valley or First Baptist Church Normangee, or flowers can be purchased at All in Bloom Flowers in Normangee.
