Edward L. Cox Sr.

June 5, 1930 — December 27, 2021

Edward Lamar Cox Sr., 91, formerly of Normangee, Texas, passed away December 27, 2021. Funeral services are set for 10am Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church in Normangee. Interment will follow at 3pm at Smith Cemetery in Center, Texas. Funeral services are in the care of Cozart Funeral Home in Normangee.

Edward was born June 5, 1930, in Center, Texas, to James and Frances Cox. He served honorably in the U.S. Army, having served in Korea on the front lines. Edward was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Normangee. In his free time he enjoyed hunting deer and hogs, tending to his garden, and getting out on his tractor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Abner Jr.; grandchildren, Joseph Lampasas and Jymmy Gilliam; and son-in-law, Robert Jones.

Survivors include his loving wife, Novis Raye Cox; sons and daughters-in-law, Eddy and Lisa Cox, Jim and Laura Cox; daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Ken LeBert, Rosanne Jones, Jane and Jim Monroe; brother and sister-in-law, Doyle and Yuvonne Cox; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.
