Doyle Lavon Martin

Doyle Lavon Martin, 80, of Madisonville passed away Thursday, April 4, at the Riverwood Healthcare and Rehab. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 7, at 1:30 – 2:30 pm at the First Baptist Church Normangee. Funeral services will begin at 2:30 pm also at the First Baptist Church Normangee. Bro. Bob Shirley will preside over services. Burial will follow at the George Cemetery. Cozart Funeral Home has been entrusted with services.

Doyle Martin was born April 29, 1932 in the community of George, TX to his parents Ben Roy and Ira Dean (Childress) Martin. Doyle was eager to see the world and joined the Army at a young age. He was active during the Korean War and enjoyed serving his country. Doyle was an avid animal lover and is survived by his beloved poodle, Coco.

He was preceded in death by both parents Ben Roy and Ira Dean Martin; and his sister Doris Watson.

Survivors include his daughter, Susan Periquet and her husband, Arnel; two grandchildren, Vivianne Periquet and Spencer Periquet; all of Plano, TX; also survived by a brother Darrel W. Martin, of Hilltop Lakes; and several nieces and nephews.
