Donnie Dean Harris

Donnie Dean Harris, 74, of Normangee, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 6, 2021 surrounded by his wife and children. Family will great friends and guests during a time of visitation from 2:00 to 4:00pm Saturday February, 27, at First Baptist Church Normangee. Services are in the care of Cozart Funeral Home.

Donnie was born February 25, 1946, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, to Oral and Maxine Harris. He has lived in Normangee since 1977 after moving from Emhouse, Texas. He retired from Verizon after 30 years, then opened DH Electrical in Normangee where he served the community’s needs for many years. Donnie was also a proud veteran of the U.S. Airforce during the Vietnam era.

Donnie was passionate about his work and loved what he did. He also loved living in Normangee and was an active member of the community. He was someone people knew they could call on for help and was always willing to lend a hand. Donnie enjoyed spending time with his many friends, family, and his dogs Bonz and Dory.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the many community members who called to offer comfort and brought food to help with meals during this difficult time.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Betty Crites.

Survivors include his loving wife of almost 53 years, Pamela Harris; son, Matthew (Jame) Harris of San Antonio; daughter, Melissa (Chris) Magnussen of Pearland; brother, Ed Harris; twin sister, Donna (Floyd) Dowler; six grandchildren, Hope, Jordan, Aiden, and Brendan Harris, and Caleb and Shelby Magnussen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
