Delbert Wade Brian

Delbert Wade Brian, age 80, of North Zulch, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Delbert was born in Shreveport, La. on February 26, 1936 to Joseph and Cecil (Layman) Brian. He grew up in Shreveport and married the love of his life, Velma (Dunkin) Brian, in Laport, Tx on September 23, 1962, who preceded him in death in 2016. He spent many years as a trim carpenter before beginning the career he truly loved which was cattle ranching. He has spent the last 40 years in this area and was a member of the Lighthouse Church in Macy.

Survivors include his son Morgan and wife Wanda Brian of Shreveport, six daughters Glinda and husband Doug Myers of Houston, Brinda and husband Bob Hamilton of Spring, Sherry Hammonds of Dallas, Karen “Boo Boo” and husband Timbo Regini of North Zulch, Jackie Bush of Shreveport and Karen and husband James Barnes of Shreveport. Also left behind are his three sisters Barbara Ann, Betty Jean and Jean as well as his true joys, 15 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Services were held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Cozart Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Evans of Iola officiating. Interment was at Wheelock Cemetery.
