Danny Michael Shannon was born on January 4, 1953, at Dow Hospital in Freeport, Texas to Jack and Naomi Shannon. Danny grew up in a fun filled home in the then small town of College Station. Danny grew into a strong, independent man, serving his country during the Vietnam War as a sailor on the USS Ashtabula and afterwards excelling at ventures in construction and in the oil industry.
From boyhood pockets filled with toads and garter snakes to riding a bullonce, sailing a boat to the Bahamas, and travelling the world with his family, Danny enjoyed life. He shared his love of life with his sweetheart and wife of 36 years Nancy, his son Jonathan, daughter in-law Audrey, and the apple of his eye, his granddaughter Lyla.
Danny kept close to his heart a medallion of Saint Christopher the patron saint of travel. Like Saint Christopher, Danny struck his own path and on it Christ found him and Danny found rest. We will miss Danny.
Danny is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Naomi and his daughter Alexandria. Danny is survived by his wife Nancy; his son Jonathan, daughter in law Audrey, and granddaughter Lyla; brothers John, Robin, and Sean; sister Patty; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
