Charlie Marshall White

January 1, 1930 — June 22, 2014

Charlie Marshall White, Sr., 84, of Hilltop Lakes passed away peacefully Sunday morning June 22. Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 28, at the Hilltop Lakes Chapel at 11 am. Funeral services have been entrusted to Cozart Funeral Home in Normangee.

Charlie White was born in a home in Snyder, TX January 1, 1930 to his parents Willie and Mary Ruth (Waddell) White. He was married to Monte Faye Murphree on June 5, 1948 in Sweetwater, TX. Charlie was an educator for 38 years. He was a teacher, coach, and then worked his way to be a principal. Later he became a Superintendent and Administrator. Charlie loved his job especially working with kids. He was an avid golfer for many years until a stroke in 2006. Participated in all sports and excelled in football, track, and basketball. He received both football and track scholarships to Howard Payne University. Charlie was inducted into the Hall of Fame at Howard Payne in 2001. He will always be remembered for his sweet smile, his compassionate heart for his family and his devotion to God.

Charlie was preceded in death by both parents Willie and Mary Ruth White; a son Bobby White; a grandson Cody White; and two brothers, Archie White and Malcolm White.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years Monte White; a son Charlie White, Jr. and wife Michelle; a daughter Sarita Cleavinger and husband Mark; a granddaughter Kippi Cleavinger; two grandsons Michael Cleavinger and wife Kari, and Jeremy White; a great granddaughter Sydney Cleavinger; and a great grandson Maddox Cleavinger.

The family would like to thank the staff @ Hospice Brazos Valley for their care and kindness and support over the last week.
