Bobby Bass, 61, of Normangee, was called home to the Lord Thursday, January 29. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 1, at the First Baptist Church Normangee from 2 to 4 pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 2, at 2 pm at the First Baptist Church Normangee. Bro. Bob Shirley and Bro. Gary Dawkins will preside over service. Burial will follow at the Wealthy Cemetery in Normangee. Funeral services have been entrusted to Cozart Funeral Home in Normangee.
Bobby was born to his parents on August 1, 1953 in Nacogdoches, TX. Bobby Bass worked as a refinery pipe builder for over 40 years and really enjoyed his job and co-workers. Bobby was a workaholic and always had something to do. Bobby was the ultimate Jack of all trades, there was not many things that he could not do. He enjoyed coming home to see his beautiful wife of 36 years by sharing and giving of his self. Bobby really loved all of his grandchildren and would always make time playing, fishing, or just showing them that they were loved and special. When Bobby had time for his self, he enjoyed riding his Harley and making improvements around his home.
Bobby was preceded in death by both of his parents, Bud Bass and Bobbie Ann Denman; he was also preceded by a grandchild Colby Barnard.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Bass; sons, Robby Bass and wife Angie, and Ricky Barnard; daughters, Misty Bass, Kim Shaw and husband Jake, Jimette Aguirre and husband Willie, and Shannon Potter and husband Mark, a sister Carlyon Slay and husband George; 25 grandchildren, Justin, Courtney, Haley, Austin, Hunter, Derrick, Shanlyn, Blain, Hayden, Tyler, Taylor, Brooklynn, Traa, Kay Lynn, Katlyn, Blake, Jake Jr., Trey, Brandon, Kelsee, Bradly, Daniel, Drake, Danielle, and Brandon, and 6 great grandchildren.
