Billy Lee Redmon was born October 24, 1926, and went to be with the Lord on January 17, 2017. Billy was born to John Allen Redmon and Katy Little Redmon in Willis, Texas and was the youngest child of six.
Although Billy lost his dad when he was nine years old and was raised by his mother in a small house without electricity or running water in the Piney Woods in Montgomery County, Billy graduated from Willis High School and was an honorably discharged veteran of WWII.
Billy married the love of his life, Edith Bernice Hough on December 9, 1944 and they were married until her passing on February 15, 2009. Together they raised two sons, Larry and Mike, and ran a successful construction company, Redco, Inc. out of Pasadena, Texas until they retired. In 1970 they purchased 67 acres in Normangee, Texas, and after having made the trip from Houston almost every weekend for 20 years to the farm, they remodeled an old farm house and retired to live the good life in Normangee in 1990.
They were very active members of the Normangee United Methodist Church, where Billys annual fish fry became a legend in its own right! Billy had a great sense of humor, was generous to all who had a need, and loved to play 42. He will be missed by many.
Billy is survived by his two sons, Larry Redmon of Bryan, Texas and Mike Redmon of Normangee, Texas. He is also survived by his granddaughter Rebecca Anne Flint and his grandson Mark Allen Redmon.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Normangee First United Methodist Church.
