Bernice Mona Powell, 95, formerly of Flynn, passed away Wednesday, October 5, in Floresville, TX. Graveside services were held on Saturday, October 8, at 1:00 pm in the Gum Springs Cemetery. Pastor Wayne Urbanowski from the Leon Springs Presbyterian Church was the presider. Visitation was held at Cozart Funeral Home Friday, October 7, from 5 to 7 pm. Services have been entrusted to Cozart Funeral Home.
Bernice Mona Henry was born
January 5, 1916 to the parents Oscar and Bernice (Patterson) Henry in San Antonio, TX. After she graduated high school she later decided to join the Armed Forces. Bernice became a Master Sergeant in the US Army and was active during WWII. Shortly after her discharge she became a Civil Servant at the Kelly Air Force Base near San Antonio, and served for 32 years.
Bernice was preceded in death by both of her parents, her brother, and her husband CF Powell. She is survived by nieces, cousins, and many friends who loved her very much.
