Walter Gene Pottberg
Walter Eugene Pottberg, 76, of Hilltop Lakes went to the Lord Sunday, December 9. Memorial services will be held Thursday, December 13, in the Hilltop Lakes Chapel at 11 am. Bro. Tony Taylor will preside over services.
Walter Gene Pottberg was born January 10, 1936 in Osborne County, Kansas to his parents Walter and Beatrice (Quillin) Pottberg. Gene was married to Joyce Reedy on December 15, 1961 they were happily married 50 years. Gene was a very active person he liked to fly planes, race ATVs across the sand dunes of California and use his HAMM Radio. He was playing Basketball in a league till he was 56. Gene was a member of the Hilltop Lakes Chapel, T-38 Club at Hilltop Lakes, and Lions Club at Hilltop Lakes.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Pottberg; a son Gary Pottberg; two daughters Kari Swartz and husband John Mark Swartz, and Robin Utter and husband Scott Utter; a brother Robert Pottberg and wife Jimmie June; a sister Donna Pottberg; six grandchildren Sarah, Jacob, and Rachel Swartz, and Scotty, Michael, and Rachel Utter; and two great grandchildren Arianna and Nathan.
I loved my Grandpa he was an amazing man of God. I love the fact that he served the lord as well as serving our country in the Air Force. I will miss you grandpa save a place for me next to God!
