Mildred Houston Jacoby
Mildred Houston Jacoby, 96, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. She was born on May 13, 1917 in Reagan, Texas. Mildred was raised by T.W. and Ida Houston in a loving, Christian family made up of four sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mildred G. Houston of Temple, Texas and many nieces and nephews in her Houston family. She is also survived by the children and grandchildren of her late husband, Max Jacoby. Mildred was preceded by her four sisters, Evelyn Hay, Gladys Clark, Lois Schober Kellogg and Shelma Ahrens. She was also preceded by her three brothers, J. D. Houston, Charles W. Houston and by Herbert Ray Houston.
Mildred graduated from Reagan High School in 1933. She later lived and worked in Galveston, Fort Worth and Houston before moving to Hilltop Lakes in 1981 upon her retirement from Amaco Oil Company after 34 years of service there. During her employment years, she was an active member of Desk and Derricks, and later a member of the BETA SIGMA PHI Sorority at Hilltop Lakes. She also was one of the founders of the Troop Over the Hill Club.
Funeral services will be held at Hilltop Lakes Chapel on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at the Wealthy Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers, Memorials can be made in her memory to the Wealthy Cemetery or to Hilltop Lakes Chapel.
