Merle Wilson, 95, of Flynn went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 26, surrounded by loved ones. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 27, at the Flynn Assembly of God from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be at Flynn Assembly of God on Thursday, March 28, at 11 am. Bro. Rick Smith will preside over services. Burial will follow at Gum Springs Cemetery.

Merle Anderson was born August 18, 1917 to her parents C. D. and Myrtle (Green) Anderson. She was a high school graduate and at the age of 16, married the love of her life, Lee Wilson. Lee and Merle spent 62 wonderful years together. Being a loving Christian woman, she has devoted 60 yrs of service to the Flynn Assembly of God being the oldest member of the church. Merle was a very active lady playing 42 and Bridge with her friends and making the best pies in Leon County. She loved her family dearly and was an avid quilt maker.

Merle Wilson was preceded in death by both parents C. D. and Myrtle Anderson; her husband Lee Wilson; 9 brothers and sisters; and one daughter Mable Cherlene Wilson.

Survivors include a daughter, Pat Newsom and husband Gene; three grandchildren, Cheri Williams and husband Claude, Ron Newsom and wife Jeanise, and Don Newsom and wife Ila; 10 great grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
