Born October 30, 1928, in Iowa Park, Texas, L.C. Hounsel, Jr. passed from this life on July 26, 2021 at the age of 92.
Mr. Hounsel was an educator, coach and school administrator in Rising Star, Clyde, and Winters, Texas. A faithful member of the Church of Christ, he was an excellent teacher of scripture and led the song service into his 80’s. L.C. married Janis Jones Cowan on February 15, 1979, successfully blending two families. He was “Daddy”, “Dad” and “Pawapaw” to 7 children, 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren whom he loved unconditionally and was greatly loved in return.
Besides his wife of 42 years, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, he is survived by his beloved sister, Glenda Hounsel Pace.
A visitation is to be held at 10am on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Cozart Funeral Home with a funeral service afterwards at 11am. Interment will take place at Hopewell Cemetery at 12:30pm following the funeral service.
