Jessie Irene Douthitt
Jessie Irene Nesmith Douthitt better known as GG, was born on June 13, 1931 in Walker County to Radford and Lucy Nesmith.
She passed away very peacefully at age 87 at home after a gradual decline in health on January 4, 2019 in Flynn, Texas surrounded by her loved ones. She came from a very large family being the 4th of 17. GG was known for her feisty, yet good sense of humor. Her home was open to all of us and it was the place we all wanted to be. Our family dynamics could be very challenging at times but she always stood by our side. She ran the Flynn Store for many years and looked forward to joking and visiting with the customers. She was a cattle rancher who loved to go fishing and hunting on her property in Flynn.
She was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 3 sisters, two daughters, Mary Jo Clark and Betty Earl Holton, two grandsons, Skipper Walden and Trey Richardson and one great-granddaughter Kylee Harris.
She is survived by 6 brothers Charlie, John, Bobby, Wilber “Peck”, Billy Nesmith and one sister Kitty Raymond. Two daughters, Margaret Hutchins and Janette Taylor. Six grandkids Kelly Horn, Tyra Ranton, Michelle Livanec, Leslie Harris, Rashelle Fitzgerald and Clint Bell.
She will be greatly missed by all those that loved and knew her.
I remember she and stubby had the store when Andy and I first moved here. I missed them after they left the store. Good people.
