James Thomas Ingram, age 92, of the Edge Community, passed away Monday, April 8, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. A time for the family to receive friends will be Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 10:00 am at Edge Baptist Church with Funeral Services to follow at 12:00. Services will be officiated by Rev. Jimmy Bevers, pastor. Interment will follow at New Church Cemetery.
James was born in Clarendon, Texas to George Washington and Marie (Pace) Ingram on November 9, 1926. He met and married the love of his life Charleen Hedrick on March 24, 1944 and they just recently celebrated 75 years of marriage.
James worked most of his life in the oil and gas industry. His career started at Phillips Petroleum in Borger, Tx and then he moved to Houston where he worked for the same plant and retired after 41 years of service. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII from 1943 – 1945. He was a member of American Legion Post 159 of Bryan.
Surviving James is his wife Charleen, a son Thomas James Ingram of Edge and two daughters Linda Kae McCullough of Pearland and Melissa Katherine Murphy of Brookshire, TX. He is also survived by a sister Johnnie May Dailey of Independence, Mo. Also left behind are his 8 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
