Edna May Windham, 93, of Alvin, Texas passed away on August 6, 2024, peacefully at home with her family by her side. A visitation will be held in her honor on Sunday, August 11, 2024, from 12-2pm at Cozart Funeral Home in Normangee, Texas. A graveside service will be to follow at Plainview Cemetery with her son John Windham officiating. Pallbearers John, Oscar, Michael, Kevin, Mitchell, and Tim will have the honor of assisting.

Edna was born in Middletown, Pennsylvania on July 11, 1931, to parents Ethel and Walter Pickel. She later went on to become a graduate of Middletown High School.

Throughout her life, Edna lived in Alvin, Texas, Pearland, Texas, and San Antonio, Texas. She worked as a secretary at an accounting firm, Ernst and Ernst, and later retired from the IRS. Edna was also a faithful member of the Heights Baptist Church in Alvin, Texas.

Some of her favorite activities and hobbies include playing bingo, crafting, crabbing, and she sure did love to dance.

Edna could be described as firm but consistent, playful, hardworking, and she loved her family deeply. She was a firm believer in taking care of those she loved, saving money, and to always “mean what you say”.

Edna is survived by her children Dianna Webb (Kenneth), Patricia Pelata and John Walter Windham (Lori), sister Joyce Browning, grandkids Christopher Rodgers, Patrice Lake, Randa “Machelle” Moreno, Kasey Holm, Tammy Pelata, Jonathan Hudnall, Lauren Hudnall, Mackenzie Krumme, Tyler Ross, Mitchell Windham, Lola Bowles and David Windham, and 31 great grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her husband Morris Windham, parents Ethel and Walter Pickel, son Kirk Rodgers, and siblings Sonny, Doris, Billy, and Dawn.

  1. Edna was the most wonderful person in the world! She always had time to listen and laugh with all of us. She will be missed so much by everyone who knew her! I will always cherish the memories of her! I will always love you sweet angel forever!
