Augusta “Mickey” Lea Comer, 89, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024.
Augusta was born in Clodine, Texas on September 15, 1934. She was the seventh of eleven children born to sharecroppers, August Karl Toman and Bettie Mary Pavlicek Toman. She Is survived by her sister Betty Ann Lyons, four children; son, Frank Fea and wife Vicki, daughters, Allyson Cawthon and husband Jon, Margaret McDowell and husband Edward, Sandy Johnson and husband John. Grandchildren – Shaye Bogle, Stacy Rhoads, Jimmie McDowell, Christi Yost, Holly Cochran, Margaret Schroeder, Abbey Sorsby, Jeremy Johnson along with 16 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Fea Sr. and J.M. “Jimmie” Comer Jr., grandchildren; Marty Rhoads and Steven Rhoads, siblings; Albert Toman, George Toman Dorothy Woodard, Elizabeth LeBlanc, Lillian Lilie Demny, Alma Jankowski, Margaret Provenzano Evelyn Baecker, and Eugene Toman, and parents August and Bettie Toman.
Augusta was also known as Mickey, Mom, and Ma Ma. She was a great cook, homemaker, seamstress, wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to serve people when they came into her home and a chat over coffee was cherished. The most important thing in her life was her relationship with Jesus Christ and her desire that everyone would come to know Him. Helping her children and grandchildren, along with her loving hospitality, was a big part of her ministry to share the love of Jesus!
The family would like to thank Lynette Davis and the attending nurses with Amedysis Hospice and many of the staff at Legacy Nursing Home that loved and cared for mother.
Family is inviting everyone to join for the meal before the service at 12:00 pm on April 24th at the Flynn Assembly of God Church.
